Some imagine it too posh and don't like that; others assume it's just old, boring French food?
All I know is after each meal I have eaten here, I have left thinking only about how great a place this is.
Very happy you enjoyed it too.

Had a degustation recently at Le Gavroche and was totally blown away by the quality of the food and service. I'm wondering why this place is so under the radar compared to other places when the food is just so good.

Hi Ian,
thanks for visiting!

Very pleased to hear that.
That's precisely what a friend and I did - to excellent effect, by the way!
The staff there are fantastic and will bend over backwards to help you enjoy your meal.

Thanks for the heads up ;)

Had dinner at LG last tuesday, first time visit, was totally bowled over it could not have been better. It's one week on and I still cannot get the experience out of my head and reading your excellent review makes me want to go back even more.

Very intrigued by the menu you put together, a sort of self-made tasting menu, where some dishes were split between two I'm guessing.

BTW: Your blog post has popped up at the bottom of London-eating.co.uk in case you're wondering where the new attention has come from... :)

Indeed Sch, they really know how to make one feel so special...that's why I always look forward to returning as much as I do!

I know what you mean about the average age, but they don't bat an eyelid; they probably like it. A customer for life?

Have fun! And let me know how it goes.

I first visited LG two and half years ago with my best friend. I was still a student at the time and had saved for 6 months to go there. It was amazing - I can close my eyes and still taste the scallops, the foie gras, the veal... Spent half an hour in the kitchen chatting with the pastry chef at the end of the night. We brought the average age of patrons down by quiet a bit, but we were treated like royalty.
So, Dad phoned last night to say he'd be in London next week, and could he beg a bed for the night..."I'll take you out to dinner in lieu. And a feel like a blow out, somewhere I'd never normally go. You choose."
Hee, hee.......
